Who is Dr. Münür Sago?
Dr. Münür Sago, the founder of Sago Team IVF Centre, has a successful career and life story spanning over 50 years, reaching from Limassol, Nicosia, Istanbul to Mardin. Known for his modesty, Dr. Münür Sago has earned his name among Europe’s leading obstetricians and IVF specialists through his sophisticated education, forward-thinking and personalised treatment methods, and surgical expertise.
YOUTH YEARS
Born in Limassol Cyprus in 1970, Münür Sago migrated to Nicosia with his family after the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation.
After completing primary school at Şehit Ertuğrul, he successfully passed the entrance exams of the Turkish Maarif College, one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Northern Cyprus, where he completed his secondary and high school education.
HIGHER EDUCATION YEARS
In 1988, Dr. Münür Sago was admitted to Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, his first choice in the Higher Education Entrance Exam (ÖSS) and graduated with an excellent degree in 1994.
In 1995, he was granted a specialised placement in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital. He completed his expert training there between 1995 and 1999.
During this period, due to his special interest in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, he received advanced training and obtained further licenses in these fields.
After becoming a specialist, he worked in various private hospitals in Istanbul for a year.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
In 2000, Dr. Münür Şago voluntarily relocated to the district of Kiziltepe in Mardin, a region with a population of one million, to further enhance his professional experience and serve the community in an area where there was a shortage of specialist doctors at the time.
He led a busy work life there as the sole Specialist Doctor for five years. As patients in this region often sought medical attention at latter and more critical stages, he had the opportunity to perform many complex and challenging surgeries, that which accelerated his professional experience.
Towards the end of 2004, he returned to his beloved Cyprus and opened his own clinic. In 2010, he established his first IVF centre with a partner and five years later, he founded himself Sago IVF Team, where he currently heads.

Paying attention to every detail, he is renowned to plan personalised treatment protocols without rushing patients or the treatment process.

In this regard, he was one of the first to introduce the EmbryoScope Plus device to Cyprus, that which has a significant impact on the success rates of IVF treatment.

INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIPS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Münür Sago is a member of international organisations such as the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
He regularly attends global congresses, seminars, and workshops.
Particularly successful in using minimally invasive surgical techniques, Dr. Münür Sago has achieved success in performing flawless surgeries using hysteroscopic and laparoscopic methods for many patients who have had multiple unsuccessful attempts due to reasons such as uterine fibroids, endometrial damage, and uterine constriction.
MÜNÜR SAGO’S PERSONAL LIFE
Dr. Münür Sago leads an active life outside of work and is married with one child.
Due to his love for animals, he lives with his family in a farmhouse where he also raises several dogs, birds, chickens, and ducks.
He also takes pleasure in growing his own organic vegetables and fruits whenever he finds the time.
Cooking meals for his family is his responsibility, driven by his interest in world cuisine.
His hobbies include swimming, free diving, spearfishing, fishing with a rod, snowboarding, hiking in nature, and collecting herbs and mushrooms. He is also passionate about motorcycles.
